Chinese Traditional Painting ( 8 yrs old and above--- Max for 12 students )

This multi-award winning artist will teach the various techniques used in this Chinese Traditional Painting class. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome. Students will practice drawing a tree, a stone or a mountain until finally a complete picture will be created by using the skills and strategies learned from this class. Many students have been studying with Master Sun for more than 7 years. Some of his students won 1st, 2nd, 3rd or outstanding prizes in Michigan Statewide or US National Youth Art Competions in 2002,2004 or 2006.

Sketch ( Max for 12 students )

This class is designed for children 9-year old and above. The professional art teacher will start with basic techniques in drawing & sketching. After that, based on the students' individual interests, small groups will focus on still-life painting, drawing cartoons and Disney characters, and water color pictures. Math & Science

Math Basics ( 6th grade and above )

This class is for 6th grade students and above. The instructor, with many years of math teaching experience, will teach the basics of Algebra & Geometry. The following will be covered: Linear Equations, Ratio and Proportions, Graphing Linear Equations, Plane Geometry, Solid Geometry, Analytical Geometry, etc. The students will be given an assessment test on the first day of class and then the instructor will teach test-taking techniques, as well as demonstrate how to solve math problems with different methods and strategies. This course will not only strengthen the students' basic math skills, but also will be a good preparation for taking the statewide or nationwide Math Competitions. An additional charge of $80 for teaching materials will be payable to the instructor at the first class.

This class is for 6 grade students and above to prepare them for MathCount and AMC 8 level competitions. Students will learn how to solve problems and do practice tests. In order to identify and encourage children in our community who are gifted in math, David Lu, who once won the first prizes in both MathCount and AMC 8 level competitions in Michigan and USA, will teach this course. For sure the instructor will lead you in learning the tips and strategies of math competition and coach you step by step to be successful in your MathCount or AMC 8 level of competitions. Chinese for Beginners

Intermediate Chinese
